Under The Sun - Schematism, On Stage With Under the Sun
The quartet of Chris Shryack (lead vocals, guitar) Kurt Barabas (bass and backing vocals) Matt Evidon (keys and backing vocals) and Paul Shkut (drums) produce a Yes/Starcastle influenced sound, but judging by this live album, the studio work will sound a lot more polished. But take nothing away from this live performance, it is a well groomed effort and the songs are well structured. Nearly seventy two minutes and nine tracks make this album a worthwhile listen, and there are some small live pictures and a lot of credits with information in the fold out sleeve, but I can't help but think that this should be a DVD to get the full effect. Some of the songs such as Dream Catcher, This Golden Voyage and the epic SoulJourner just sound excellent live, and the playing performances are a notable credit. This is a complex album as live albums go, but well worth the
time to hear it in it's full raw live state.
