Procol Harum - Live (DVD) Special Edition
This version drops the the band’s family tree, discography, the rehearsal footage and current band members biographies. In its place is more sound options, including Dolby Stereo and our personal favourite, DTS. Bearing in mind that the recording of the concert took place in 2001, the 5.1 soundtrack could not and cannot be faulted (this version is remixed by the way), but in our opinion, the DTS option boosts the sound and opens it up just that little bit further on our equipment. A newly designed DVD cover and embossed cardboard slipcase distinguishes this release from the original. Technical AspectsPicture and sound quality are excellent. Package featuresThe DVD has a fully animated menu from which can be accessed the audio options, the full main feature, individual songs and the rehearsal footage, which in turn has a song selection option. The DVD sleeve provides full track listings of both the featured gig and the rehearsal footage. The DVD is multi-region will play on both NTSC and PAL players, 4:3 screen ratio, with Dolby© Digital 5.1, Dolby Stereo and DTS soundtrack options. The total running time including extras is 150 minutes. SummaryProcol Harum's Gary Brooker proves that both he and the band are every bit as cool as they were when they first hit international fame in the late 60's and the Live DVD, whichever version you choose will not disappoint. With this special edition costing a mere 60 pence or so more than the original release and both individually costing under a tenner there is no need to wait for a birthday or Christmas as an excuse.
